About me
Jemma Katy – Counsellor
I am an experienced therapeutic counsellor, based in Staffordshire, working with a wide range of individuals. My training and academic degrees are in Psychology, Business Psychology, and Therapeutic Counselling. Within my counselling, I use various methodologies including Transactional Analysis, Person-Centred, Gestalt, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I have worked with charities and agencies such as Better Way Recovery in Lichfield, and Health and Harmony in Birmingham, and now run my own private practice.
I see clients in person but also offer online therapy, working in an open, warm and non-judgemental way. I am passionate about helping clients free themselves from their emotional blocks, helping them to find their own way to a clearer and deeper understanding of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
I abide by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) Code of Ethics, and I am a registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.
For me, being a counsellor is about being present for someone, supporting them in such a way that they are able to recognise and change limiting beliefs, gain some clarity, and create distance from their emotional blocks.
